Process

A beautiful end product does not come from staring at a screen, it comes from hard work. This is my process and it is my friend.

DISCOVERY MEETING This is where we just get to know you and what you are looking for. No project can ever really start until there is a defined set of objectives that need to be met. It can be a phone call, an exchange of emails, or what we prefer – an in person meeting. This is also a great time to discuss limitations like budget, timeframe, and anything else that should be known up front.

RESEARCH + BRAINSTORMING After we have the green light, but before we go full steam ahead planning and research are conducted. A questionnaire is provided so that our team can become familiar with your company as you see it. General and visual research is explored and explored again to identity possible solutions to the project. This allows us to see what your competition is doing and how your customers view you and your brand.

SKETCHING Time to pull out the old No. 2 and a sketchbook. We take design seriously here and ideas need to be generated and either pursued or discarded at a high rate during this step. Computers are just a tool used to produce the work but the big ideas need to be created and refined before being transformed into pixels. Periods of sketching and reflection are equally important as to allow for full development. Refinements are reserved only for the best ideas – the ones that answer the problem the best.

PROTOTYPING Graphite now becomes pixels. Tight roughs are created on the computer. Logo work is black and white during this phase and all other print work will be using FPO (for placement only) imagery during this step. The designs are refined further in preparation for the initial viewing. This is also where custom photography and videography will be shot if necessary.

PRESENTATION The best three to five designs are presented to you either on screen or mocked up on boards and the conversation really begins. Honest feedback is critical at this point as it will drive the next step.

REVISION At last the vision is coming to life. We work directly with you and two rounds of revisions are customary. Color will be added to logos at this point. Photos will be touched up. Fonts will be changed out. It is normal to have cold feet at this point because the project is coming to a close. Trust us. This is not the time to try sometime new, it is time to dial in the direct that was identified previously. That is what the planning and research was there for.

FINALIZE Deliver the files to your printer, launch your website, press go on the Facebook ad campaign – you name it. We can manage the process for you (i.e. printing proofs or ad placement negotions) or you can handle it on your end. Then it is time to call it a night until you you have another project and you know where to find us.>
